Professor, supervisor of master students in statistics. Professor Yu is 59 years old, and has been teaching undergraduate courses for students in statistics, information and computational science for a long time, the courses he offers are Probability and Statistics, Sampling Surveys, Multivariate Statistical Analysis, Non-parameter Statistics, Linear Algebra, etc.. He also teaches graduate courses for students in statistics, technical economy and management, and quantitative economics which are Theory and Methods in Sampling Surveys, Methods and Application of Modern Statistical Analysis, Selected Sections in Multivariate Statistical Analysis, and so on. Professor Yu is the editor, author, or co-author of 6 textbooks, which include indicated textbook of Shandong Jiuwu project, and the recommended textbook of Committee of Advisement for Undergraduate Teaching in Statistics in Ministry of Education of China. Professor Yu's research area is mathematical statistics, and research interest is sampling surveys. He completed one project from National Bureau of Statistics of China, and one from Ministry of Education in Shandong province both as principle investigators. Professor Yu published more than 70 academic papers in the area of sampling surveys, received more than 30 awards for his research results, 6 of which are third level awards from provinces or national government ministries in China,and 3 are second level awards from Ministry of Education in Shandong Province.
Professor Yu is the receiver of Outstanding Teacher in the Country in 2004. |
