Research expertise: Probability and statistics, non-life insurance actuarial, risk theory, and applications of computers.

For teaching, in the recent years, professor Mao teaches the courses of Analysis of Inputs and Outputs, Economic Forecasting and Management Decision, Econometrics, Insurance Actuarial, Risk Management and Insurance, Calculus, Linear algebra, Probability, Mathematical Statistics, Numerical Analysis, Basis of computers, Computer Organization, C Programming Language, Basic Language, Pascal Language, Database Systems, Analysis and Design of Information Systems.

For research, Dr. Mao published more than 20 papers in journals of Acta Mathematicae Applicatae Sinica, Quantitative and Technical Economics, Mathematical Statistics and Management. 8 of his papers are cited and collected by Materials from Newspapers and Journals in Renmin University of China, Chinese Mathematics Abstracts, and so on. 3 of his papers were reviewed by American Mathematical Review. Dr. Mao participated to complete one research project supported by National Science Foundation, one research project of soft science of Shandong province.
