At the beginning of implementing the “Reform and Opening-up Policy” in China, laws and regulations were required to establish and enhance the rule of law in China. In 1983, staff room in Economic Law had been established in Shandong Economic University, at the same time, relevant lessons such as Economic Law, International Commercial Law became the public required lessons for the whole university. Due to the efforts from all circles, the law department was established in 2000 and changed its name into law school in 2005. Since the establishment in 2000, many excellent students with ability have graduated.

    The law school currently has more than 671 students in various undergraduate programs, 52 faculty members and good facilities. Many of its faculty members have also studied in foreign countries. And it currently has five staff rooms mainly focus in public law, international law, civil & commercial law, legal basis and basic legal theories as well as four research centers like commercial law, procedure law, legal practice and real estate law. More importantly, in 2006, the law school was authorized to confer master degree in civil & commercial law.

    Our law education prepares students for success in law practice, business, public service, and teaching. There are 14 core courses, 30 elective courses of law as well as some relevant economic & management courses which   make students and alumni of the Law School able to handle the world's most complex legal and social challenges.

    Outside the classroom, the law school offers small classes, limitless opportunities for clinical training, and strong encouragement of public service. Moreover, there are a rich variety of student practice organizations, professional interest groups, social groups, and student union, which allow students to pursue every possible interest.

    The law school has the Law Library, faculty offices and a moot court with state-of-art equipment. It is proud of its facilities, which provide adequate conditions for legal education and research.
